Madeeha Chikan works directly with karigars in the old lanes of Lucknow, where Chikankari has been passed from hand to hand for generations. Each piece begins with a hand-blocked pattern and ends with dozens of hours of fine white-on-white embroidery.
We keep our palette restrained, our fabrics breathable and our cuts contemporary — so a craft made for another century belongs easily in this one.
