Our Mission

Keeping a centuries-old craft alive

Madeeha Chikan exists to carry the delicate needlework of Lucknow forward โ€” piece by piece, stitch by stitch โ€” into the wardrobes of women today.

Artisan hands embroidering white Chikankari on ivory fabric

The hands behind every piece

Chikankari is slow work. A single kurta can pass through several pairs of hands โ€” block printing, embroidery, washing and finishing โ€” before it is ready to wear. We work directly with artisans in Lucknow so that this craft remains a livelihood, not a memory.

Our silhouettes are designed to be worn often: to work, to gatherings, to festive evenings. Fabrics are chosen for how they feel through the day, and finishing is checked piece by piece before dispatch.

What we promise

  • Craft first

Hand embroidery, traditional motifs and finishing done the long way.

  • Honest fabrics

Cottons, mul, chanderi and georgette selected for comfort and longevity.

  • Fair work

Long-term relationships with the artisan clusters we work alongside.

  • Considered wardrobes

Fewer, better pieces designed to be worn for years, not seasons.
